FBI and La Mesa Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify California Bank and Trust Robber

The FBI and La Mesa Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the California Bank and Trust located at 3787 Avocado Boulevard in La Mesa, California, on Monday, July 14, 2014.

On Monday, July 14, 2014, at approximately 3:32 p.m., an unknown male robbed the California Bank and Trust located at 3787 Avocado Boulevard in La Mesa, California.

At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and approached the victim teller. The robber asked the teller for a pen and began writing something on a piece of paper. The robber handed the teller the paper, which was a demand note. The note demanded money and threatened that the robber was armed with a weapon.

The teller provided the robber with a sum of money. After receiving a sum of money the robber exited the bank. No weapon was observed and no injuries reported.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: White
  • Age: Approximately 40 years old
  • Height: Approximately 5’9” tall
  • Weight: Approximately 180 pounds
  • Hair: Brown
  • Build: Medium
  • Clothing: Blue baseball cap with yellow lightening bolts on sides with yellow trim, blue T-shirt with words “On Optimum” on front, and white ear plug headphones
