Man Arraigned on Child Pornography Charges

United States Attorney Laura E. Duffy announced the unsealing of a criminal indictment today charging Howard Willie Carter, II with receipt and possession of images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Carter was arraigned today in federal court in San Diego before United States Magistrate Judge Jan M. Adler.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents arrested Carter in San Diego the morning of Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Magistrate Judge Adler ordered Carter held in custody pending a detention hearing on October 23, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
