FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify US Bank Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown man responsible for robbing the US Bank located inside of the Vons grocery store at 5555 Balboa Avenue in San Diego, California, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at approximately 4:33 p.m., the US Bank located inside of the Vons grocery store located at 5555 Balboa Avenue in San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male using a demand note. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the grocery store through the east doors. The robber approached the teller and sat down in a chair in front of the teller’s station. The robber reached into his coat pocket and pulled out an envelope and a crumpled piece of paper with writing on it. The robber presented the demand note to the teller. The teller read the note and provided the robber a sum of money. After receiving a sum of money, the robber stood up and walked away from the teller station. The robber subsequently exited the store through the west doors. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses describe the robber as follows:
- Sex: Male
- Race: White
- Age: Approximately 30 years old
- Height: Approximately 5’6” to 5’10” tall
- Weight: Approximately 130 to 140 lbs.
- Build: Skinny
- Eyes: Brown
- Hair/Coloring: Short brown straight hair and a goatee
- Clothing: Dark blue baseball cap with yellow letters, dark olive coat, gray T-shirt, light blue baggy jeans, and a black belt
