Keith Slotter, Special Agent In Charge of the San Diego FBI office, is announcing the arrest of Ronnie Stanley Walker, age 25, of San Diego, California.

Walker was arrested on Friday, February 25, 2011, at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the vicinity of the 11000 block of Carmel Mountain Road. Walker was arrested without incident by San Diego Police detectives and FBI agents. Walker was subsequently booked into the San Diego County Central Jail on two counts of bank robbery, specifically, the February 9, 2011, robbery of the Union Bank, 11865 Carmel Mountain Road, and the February 16, 2011, robbery of the Comerica Bank, 11608 Carmel Mountain Road.

On February 18, 2011, the FBI issued a news release seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown man responsible for robbing the above two banks. A number of local media outlets aired this story on their news broadcasts, posted pictures on their websites, and printed pictures in their newspapers. As a result, several tips were called into Crime Stoppers leading to the identification of Walker as the person allegedly responsible for the two bank robberies.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, Walker was arraigned in State Superior Court for the County of San Diego, on two counts of bank robbery. Walker’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 14, 2011. Walker remains in custody at the George Bailey Detention Facility, 446 Alta Road, San Diego, California. The San Diego District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting this case.

An arrest itself is not evidence that the suspect committed the crimes charged. The suspect is presumed innocent until the government meets its burden in court of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
