Pair of Bank Robbers Sought in Two Robberies

The FBI and local law enforcement are seeking the public’s assistance to identify two unknown men believed responsible for two bank robberies in San Diego County on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the US Bank, located inside of the Vons grocery store, at 3681 Avocado Avenue, La Mesa, California, was robbed by an unknown male accompanied by another unknown male. The first suspect entered the store approached the victim teller, and presented a demand note for cash. While the first suspect was robbing the teller, the second suspect stood behind suspect number one and appeared to act as a lookout for suspect number one. Suspect number one collected the money from the victim teller and walked out of the store followed by suspect number two.

At approximately 2:44 p.m., the Bank of America, located at 4420 Bonita Road, Bonita, California, was robbed by an unknown male accompanied by another unknown male. During this robbery, suspect number one approached the victim teller and presented a demand note for cash. Once again the second suspect stood watch during the robbery. After receiving money from the victim teller both suspects exited the bank.

Investigators believe the suspects reversed roles in the second robbery, with suspect number one from the first robbery acting as a lookout, while suspect number two conducted the second robbery.

Sex: Male
Race: White
Age: Approximately 40 years old
Height: 5’10” - 6’0” tall
Hair: Brown/Gray closely cut hair and mustache
Clothing: Light colored pullover sweatshirt, dark gray sweatpants, dark tee shirt underneath sweatshirt, blue Padres baseball cap

Suspect number two:

Sex: Male
Race: White
Age: Approximately 40 years old
Height: 5’10” - 6”0” tall
Clothing: Light blue jeans, red and white v-neck long sleeve shirt, dark baseball cap, and white framed sunglasses
