San Diego FBI Special Agent in Charge Keith Slotter announces the arrest of Ella Michelle English, age 29, of San Diego, California, on Wednesday, August 18, 2010.

English was arrested today at approximately 3:15 p.m. in the vicinity of San Diego Police Department Headquarters by San Diego Police Officers and Detectives.

English was arrested as a result of the investigation into the attempted bank robbery of the Bank of America, located at 6801 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, California, on Monday, August 16, 2010.

On Monday, August 16, 2010, at approximately 3:17 p.m., an unknown female attempted to rob the Bank of America, located at 6801 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, California, using a demand note. The unknown female left the bank without receiving any money.

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a news release was issued to local San Diego media that included bank surveillance photographs of the robber. Following this news release, investigators received several calls from the public that led to the identification of English.

It is anticipated that English will be booked into the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) pending her appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge, on Thursday, August 19, 2010.

An arrest itself is not evidence that the defendant committed crimes charged. The defendant is presumed innocent until the government meets its burden in court of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
