The FBI, San Diego Police Department, and San Diego Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male bank robber dubbed the “Geezer Bandit.” The “Geezer Bandit” is believed responsible for robbing seven banks in San Diego County. Three different rewards, totaling $16,000, are being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the “Geezer Bandit.”

The suspect entered the California Bank and Trust located at 140 Escondido Avenue in Vista at approximately 9:10 this morning and stood at the customer kiosk in front of the teller stations until a teller was available. He then approached a teller holding what appeared to the teller to be two $20 bills in his right hand (she assumed he wanted change). He then produced a demand note that stated it was a robbery and threatened having a weapon. He then opened a black day planner to show the teller that he had a black short barreled revolver pointed at her. After the teller produced the money he put the cash into his day planner and walked out of the bank and out of sight.
