Gaylord Francis Quincy Sentenced in U.S. District Court

The United States Attorney’s Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls on March 13, 2012 before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, GAYLORD FRANCIS QUINCY, a 62-year-old resident of Hays, appeared for sentencing. QUINCY was sentenced to a term of:
- Prison: 30 months
- Special assessment: $100
- Supervised release: life
QUINCY was sentenced in connection with his guilty plea to abusive sexual contact.
In an offer of proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Danna R. Jackson and J. Bishop Grewell, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:
QUINCY, an enrolled member of the Fort Belknap Indian Tribe, sexually abused a young child on two occasions. QUINCY admitted in a recorded confession that on two separate occasions he sexually abused the young child. The crimes took place on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.
Because there is no parole in the federal system, the “truth in sentencing” guidelines mandate that QUINCY will likely serve all of the time imposed by the court. In the federal system, QUINCY does have the opportunity to earn a sentence reduction for “good behavior.” However, this reduction will not exceed 15 percent of the overall sentence.
The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Fort Belknap Police Department, and the St. Joseph Missouri Police Department.
