Elroy Jay Weaselbear, Sr. Pleads Guilty in U.S. Federal Court

The United States Attorney’s Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on November 21, 2012, before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, Elroy Jay Weaselbear, Sr., a 39-year-old resident of Lame Deer and an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, pled guilty to incest. Sentencing has been set for February 22, 2013. He is currently detained.

Weaselbear faces possible penalties of life in prison, a $50,000 fine, and five years’ supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
