Coeur D’Alene Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine Trafficking

U.S. Attorney’s Office November 23, 2010
  • District of Idaho (208) 334-1211

Larry McMillan, 31, of Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho, was sentenced yesterday to 77 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered McMillan to serve four years of supervised release following his prison term. McMillan pled guilty to the charge in September 2010.

The investigation revealed that McMillan and others traveled to the Seattle area to pick up methamphetamine, which was then sold in the Coeur d’Alene area. McMillan was part of a larger group that has been distributing methamphetamine in northern Idaho for two years. Twenty defendants have been arrested in the investigation, 18 have been convicted, and 17 have been sentenced. Previously sentenced defendants include Brenda Barron and Amber Larsen. Shad Johnson, who also pled guilty to the distribution of methamphetamine in this investigation, will be sentenced on January 25, 2011. The United States Attorney commended the work of all the agencies who participated in the investigation including the members of the North Idaho Violent Crime Task Force.

“Methamphetamine is a horribly addictive drug that poses a threat to our communities,” said United States Attorney Wendy J. Olson. “The United States Attorney’s Office and its law enforcement partners will continue to aggressive investigate and prosecute methamphatimine distribution rings such as this one.”

The case was investigated by the North Idaho Violent Crime Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
