Fort Hall Man Pleads Guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact

Mervin Fisher, 67, of Fort Hall, Idaho, pled guilty yesterday to abusive sexual contact, the United States Attorney’s Office announced.

According to the plea agreement, Fisher inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl. The conduct occurred on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation and had been happening for about one year.

The federal charge carries a maximum prison sentence of two years, a fine of up to $250,000, and supervised release of five years to life.

The case was investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department, Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Sentencing is scheduled for February 7, 2011, before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge in Pocatello.
