U.S. Attorney’s Office September 09, 2010 |
Alisha Kathleen Bellavance, 28, of Lewiston/Clarkston Valley, was sentenced yesterday to 36 months in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Bellavance to serve five years of supervised release following her prison term and perform 150 hours of community service. Bellavance pled guilty to the charge in May 2010.
Bellavance admitted to conspiring with others to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine from June 2009 to February 2010. Bellavance purchased her methamphetamine from sources in the Idaho/Washington area and then sold it to her own customers. When she was arrested by the Quad Cities Drug Task Force in September 2009, police found approximately 45 grams of methamphetamine in her safe. Initially, Bellavance was charged by Nez Perce County. After she was released on the Nez Perce County charges, Bellavance continued to be involved with methamphetamine distribution and was arrested on related federal drug charges in March of 2010. Nez Perce County dismissed their charges after Bellavance was taken into federal custody.
The case was investigated by the Quad Cities Drug Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
