Man Pleads Guilty to Three Bank Robberies

Russell Lee Brumbaugh, 46, pled guilty yesterday in federal court to three counts of bank robbery, the United States Attorney’s Office announced.

Brumbaugh robbed the Mountain West Bank on St. Luke’s Drive in Meridian on September 14, 2009, the Idaho Advantage Credit Union on Emerald in Boise on November 2, 2009, and the Payette River Community Credit Union in Horseshoe Bend on February 3, 2010.

Each federal charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, a fine of up to $250,000, and maximum supervised release of three years.

The case was investigated by the FBI, Boise Police Department, Meridian Police Department, Boise County Sheriff’s Office, and Gem County Sheriff’s Office.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 9, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge in Boise.
