Informational: Federal Court Arraignment

U.S. Attorney’s Office March 24, 2010
  • District of Montana (406) 657-6101

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on March 24, 2010, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn S. Ostby, the following individual was arraigned:

HARVEST DAWN WHITE, a 37-year-old resident of Crow Agency, appeared on a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She is currently detained. If convicted of this charge, WHITE faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Diane Cabrera and Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Harper Suek are the prosecutors for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The defendant pled not guilty to the charge.

The charge, an indictment, information or complaint, is merely an accusation and any person named as a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. A pre-trial conference and a trial date will be set and the United States will be required to prove the allegations set forth in the indictment beyond a reasonable doubt.
