Informational: Federal Court Initial Appearance

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on February 22, 2010, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn S. Ostby, the following individual appeared:

MARCIA GOODBEAR, a 33-year-old resident of Lame Deer, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging misprision of a felony. She is currently detained on special conditions. If charged with this offense, GOODBEAR faces possible penalties of four years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Harper Suek is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
