FBI Sacramento February 24, 2009
  • Special Agent Neeki Bianchi (916) 977-2258

The FBI is teaming with local law enforcement in an effort to identify a man suspected of robbing eight banks in the Sacramento area during the past four months.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 - 40 years old, with blue eyes and a goatee leading authorities to nickname him the “Goat” bandit. He is 5-foot-9 to 6-foot and weighs approximately 200 pounds with a stocky to medium build. In each of the robberies he has worn a black baseball cap and often places the loot in a manila type envelope.

The spree started last fall in Roseville with an October 3 robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, 781 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, and included two robberies on October 23 when the suspect struck the US Bank in Auburn, 30 High Street, and the Washington Mutual Bank in Citrus Heights, 5801 Sunrise Boulevard. He is also wanted in connection with the December 11 robbery of the Wachovia Bank in Citrus Heights, 8477 Auburn Boulevard; the December 13 robbery of the US Bank in Auburn, 2360 Grass Valley Highway; the December 23 heist of the Bank of America in Auburn, 900 High Street; the January 6 robbery of the Bank of America in Roseville, 2221 Douglas Boulevard; and the February 17 hold up of the Bank of America in El Dorado Hills, 3901 Park Drive.

These robberies are being investigated by the Sacramento Violent Crimes Task Force (SVCTF), comprised of FBI agents and Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Robbery Detectives, and detectives from the Auburn, Roseville and Citrus Heights Police Departments and the El Dorado and Placer County Sheriff’s Offices.
