Mr. Schiff: Hi, welcome to "FBI 100, A Closer Look." I'm Neal Schiff of the Bureau's Office of Public Affairs along with FBI Historian Dr. John Fox. Last week, John, we talked about the FBI's Top Ten list. Let's look at some of those who were on the list. Like Willie Sutton who had a famous quote about why he was a bank robber?

Dr. Fox: "Well Neal, Sutton was reported to have said that he robbed banks 'because that's where the money is.' And although that was pretty common wisdom, he was caught pretty quickly and ended up in jail for a good long time after that."

Mr. Schiff: We've had many, many people on the list; nearly 500. It sure has changed over the years regarding the kinds of charges that these people have been wanted for?

Dr. Fox: "In the early days fugitives from significant violent crimes, bank robberies and things like that. Nowadays, of course, we're adding child sexual predators; we have a terrorist on there; organized crime figures; the list is reflecting priorities of the Bureau."

Mr. Schiff: Women have been on the list?

Dr. Fox: "Sure. In 1968, Ruth Eisemann-Schier was the first woman to be put on. She was put on with her partner Gary Christ for a kidnapping they had committed."

Mr. Schiff: From the FBI's Public Affairs office, along with Bureau Historian Dr. John Fox, I'm Neal Schiff with "FBI 100, A Closer Look."
