DIRECTOR MUELLER APPOINTS THREE NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTORS

Washington, D.C. - FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointments of three veteran FBI agents to Assistant Director (AD) positions – Thomas E. Bush III, AD, Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, Willie T. Hulon, AD Counterterrorism Division, and Louis M. Reigel III, AD Cyber Division.

Director Mueller said, “These three Divisions are integral components of today’s FBI.  Preventing terrorist attacks and addressing the evolving problem of cyber crime are top priorities, as is supporting our partners in state, local, tribal, and federal law enforcement.  Tom Bush, Willie Hulon, and Louis Reigel are proven leaders who will serve the American people well in their new positions.  I look forward to working closely with each of them.”

Mr. Bush returns to the CJIS Division after serving as a Section Chief of the Programs Development Section there between 2000 and 2002.  Mr. Bush entered on duty with the FBI in 1975 and has extensive experience in investigating violent crimes, drugs, and civil rights matters.   He has served in the Criminal Investigative Division, and in four field offices, including Atlanta, Jackson, and the Washington Field Office.  Most recently he was the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s St. Louis Division.

Mr. Hulon began his FBI career in 1983 and has extensive experience in managing complex, inter-agency, intelligence-based investigations.  He has served in the Criminal Investigative and Inspection Divisions at FBI Headquarters, and in the Mobile, Chicago, and San Antonio field offices.  He also served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the St. Louis Division and Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Division.  Most recently, Mr. Hulon served as a Deputy Assistant Director in the Counterterrorism Division.

Mr. Reigel brings proven leadership and expertise in managing complex investigations to his new position.  He entered on duty with the FBI in 1973 and became a Special Agent in 1980.  He served as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigative Division and as Deputy Assistant Director in the Finance Division at FBI Headquarters.  He also served in the Tampa, Mobile, and Detroit field offices, and in Los Angeles, where he was Assistant Special Agent in Charge.  Most recently, he was the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI New Orleans Division.
