FBI Offers up to $2,000 Reward for Tall Man Bank Bandit

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of a suspected six-time serial bank robber. Once a week for the past five weeks, the man has robbed bank branches—most located inside Lane County-area grocery stores. Today, he robbed a sixth bank—this time, the Key Bank branch located at 1380 Coburg Road in Eugene. Investigators have nicknamed him the “Tall Man” bandit because of his height.

Investigators believe this same man is responsible for a robbery on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Albertsons at 1675 West 18th Street in Eugene at about 6:45 p.m. In all the robberies, he approaches the teller desk, demands cash, gets an undisclosed amount of cash, and leaves. In both Monday’s and Friday’s robberies, he was seen driving away in a dark-colored, possibly green, sedan.

Witnesses describe him as:

• White male
• Age: 20s to 30s
• Height: 6’2”-6’4” tall
• Weight: 200 pounds
• Eyes: Unknown
• Hair: Brown
• Other: Prescription glasses

In Monday’s robbery, he is seen wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt with “Billabong” written on it. In Friday’s robbery, he was wearing a black LRG “Lifted Laurels” hooded sweatshirt with a green stripe across the middle. In both robberies, he was wearing prescription glasses/sunglasses and a camouflage hat.

The other robberies for which this man is suspected of being involved include:

• February 14, 2013—U.S. Bank inside the Albertsons at 311 Coburg Road in Eugene
• February 20, 2013—Chase Bank inside the Fred Meyer at 650 Q Street in Springfield
• February 25, 2013—Umpqua Bank at 3876 West 11th Avenue in Eugene
• March 6, 2013—U.S. Bank inside the Safeway at 1891 Pioneer Parkway in Springfield
