Federal Arrest Warrant Issued for Jack Palmer Van Eaton, Jr. Based on Indictment for April 22, 2008 Astoria Bank Robbery

PORTLAND, OR—The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jack Palmer Van Eaton, Jr., also known as Jack Paul Van Eaton, Jr., based on his indictment by a federal grand jury for the April 22, 2008, robbery of Sterling Savings Bank in Astoria, Oregon. Investigative agencies are the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Astoria Police Department, and the Oregon State Police Forensic Laboratory.

Van Eaton is a fugitive whose current whereabouts are unknown. Persons with knowledge of his whereabouts are requested to contact FBI Special Agent John Hallock in the Salem, Oregon office at 503-763-7530. Van Eaton is considered armed and dangerous.

Attached is a February 2008 photograph of Van Eaton. He is a white male, age 63, light complexion, medium build, 5’ 11” tall, approximately 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown/grey hair. He has prominent vertical creases on both sides of his mouth. Born in Coos Bay, Oregon, Van Eaton in the past has resided in Oregon coastal towns, as well as in Polk County and Portland.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen F. Peifer.
