FBI agents, along with Tigard and Tualatin Police Officers, have charged Ryan M. Homsley, age 29, with one count of bank robbery for the robbery at Key Bank, 7152 SW Hazelfern Road, on Tuesday, September 21. Investigators filed a complaint in federal court on Wednesday, September 22, charging Homsley, a Portland resident, with the robbery. The Oregon Financial Institutions Security Task Force (FIST) is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.

Investigators initially named the man responsible for the robbery the “Where’s Waldo” bandit based on his appearance as seen in surveillance photos. Investigation late Tuesday and into Wednesday morning provided investigators with the information needed to obtain the complaint and arrest warrant.

During the robbery, Homsley allegedly threatened that he had an explosive device. He left a small box behind as he exited the bank. Examination by the Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit showed that neither the box nor a backpack, also believed to belong to Homsley and dropped nearby, contained explosives.

Anyone with information as to Homsley’s location is asked to call the FBI at (503) 224-4181, the Tigard Police Department at (503) 639-6168, or the Tualatin Police Department at (503) 691-4800.

FIST is a cooperative effort made up of representatives from banks, savings and loans, and credit unions, as well as representatives from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The purpose of FIST is to help reduce crimes.
