Scottdale Man Pleads Guilty in Crack Cocaine Distribution Scheme

PITTSBURGH—A resident of Scottdale, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Jeremy Alan Gray, 22, of 613 Mulberry Street in Scottdale, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to one count before Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that from August 25, 2012, and continuing thereafter to August 27, 2012, Gray conspired with others to distribute 28 grams or more of crack cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Judge Cohill scheduled sentencing for Thursday May 16, 2013, at 11:3 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of 40 years in prison, a fine of $5,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Pending sentencing, the court continued Gray on bond.
Assistant United States Attorney James T. Kitchen is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Gray.
