Coraopolis Man Sentenced to Probation for Possessing Weapon

PITTSBURGH, PA—A resident of Coraopolis has been sentenced in federal court to one year probation on his conviction of possession of a machine gun, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill imposed the sentence on Martin Joseph Saunders, 49.
According to information presented to the court, Saunders transferred parts designed to convert a weapon into a machine gun.
Assistant United States Attorneys Robert S. Cessar and Lee J. Karl prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Saunders.
