Huntington Man Sentenced to 110 Months in Prison for Illegal Firearm Possession

CHARLESTON, WV—Jimmie Wade LeMaster Jr., 23, of Huntington, was sentenced today to 110 months in prison by United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr. for being a felon in possession of a firearm. LeMaster previously pleaded guilty in October. The defendant admitted that on November 24, 2009, he knowingly possessed a Jennings .22 caliber pistol.
LeMaster was prohibited from possessing a firearm by virtue of felony convictions in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in November 2007 for possession of an unregistered firearm and a February 2009 felony conviction for escape from a community correctional facility.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Hissam and Philip Wright handled the prosecution.
