Erie Man Sentenced in Crack Cocaine Distribution Scheme

ERIE, PA—A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 33 months in jail on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. imposed the sentence on Jamonte Cuprice Hollingsworth, 23.
According to information presented to the court, Hollingsworth and a co-defendant conspired to possess with intent to distribute and distributed crack cocaine in July 2009.
Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Cohill commented on the numerous contacts that Hollingsworth had with law enforcement over the last several years and his prior convictions.
Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the EAGLE task force, which is comprised of members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hollingsworth.
