Johnstown Man Sentenced to 100 Months in Prison for Selling Crack Cocaine

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 100 months in prison and five years’ supervised release on his conviction of distributing cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Leon Szewczyk, 27.

According to information presented to the court, on June 12, 2009, Szewczyk distributed five grams or more of cocaine base.

Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Johnstown Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Szewczyk.
