PITTSBURGH—A resident of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 51 months in prison on his conviction of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the sentence on Bo Scott Keenan, 28, of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania.

According to information presented to the court, on July 9, 2010, Keenan, threatening to blow up the bank, robbed the First Commonwealth Bank located at 1880 Union Avenue in Natrona Heights. As a result of the robbery, Keenan obtained $2,165.30 in U.S. currency. He was apprehended within hours of committing the robbery.

Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Ambrose stated that Keenan had an extensive criminal record, which included other violent crimes, and urged the defendant to give up his life of crime and drug abuse.

Assistant United States Attorney Almon S. Burke, Jr. prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Natrona Heights Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Keenan.
