  • Western District of Pennsylvania

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Johnstown on charges of distributing cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

The three-count indictment named Kendale Rahmel Hollins, 25.

According to the indictment presented to the court, on June 8 and June 16, 2010, Hollins distributed five grams or more of cocaine base, and on Aug. 11, 2010, Hollins distributed less than 28 grams of cocaine base.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 100 years in prison, a fine of $5,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Haines of the Western District of Pennsylvania is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Attorney General’s Office, and the Altoona Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

An indictment or information is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
