New Martinsville Resident Arrested on Bank Robbery Charge

WHEELING, WV—A 26-year-old New Martinsville, West Virginia man was arrested on February 7, 2011, and charged with the early morning robbery of the Wesbanco bank in Pine Grove, West Virginia.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that FRANKLIN K. DOTSON was charged with the robbery in a one count federal criminal complaint and appeared last night for an initial appearance before a federal magistrate judge in Wheeling. DOTSON was remanded without bond to the custody of the United States Marshals and is scheduled for a detention hearing and a preliminary hearing in federal court on Thursday, February 9, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.

The case was investigated by the Wetzel County Sheriff’s office, West Virginia State Police, Monroe County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
