Johnstown Man Sentenced to Five Years in Prison for Distributing Crack Cocaine

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison and five years supervised release on his conviction of distribution of cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Caron A. Howling, 34.
According to information presented to the court, on Nov.12 and Nov.16, 2007, Howling distributed five grams or more of cocaine base on each date.
Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, the Johnstown Police Department, and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Howling.
