Penn Hills Man Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Conspiring to Distribute Cocaine

PITTSBURGH—A resident of Penn Hills, Pa., pleaded guilty and was sentenced in federal court to 24 months in prison and five years’ supervised release on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Javaughn R. Jones, a/k/a Jason Smith, a/k/a J, 30.

According to information presented to the court, from in and around 2007, and continuing thereafter until in and around October 2008, Jones conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Ivory is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The United States Postal Inspection Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Jones.
