Pittsburgh Man Sentenced to Prison for Cocaine Trafficking Scheme

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, August 6, 2010, that Jeffrey Kachmar, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 37 months in prison followed by four years’ supervised release on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws.
United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Kachmar, age 28.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller, between January 2009, and December 15, 2009, Kachmar conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
Mr. Cessar commended the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Pittsburgh Police Department; the Pittsburgh Division of Weed and Seed; the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office; the Pennsylvania State Police; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the United States Marshals Service; and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Kachmar.
