Felon Sentenced to Time Served for Illegally Possessing Firearms

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 25, 2010, that Marvin E. Hall, a resident of Brookville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to time served (24 months) to be followed by three years of supervised release on his conviction of violating federal firearms laws.
United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Hall, age 51.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Margaret E. Picking, on January 11, 2008, Hall, a convicted felon, had in his possession a 12 gauge shotgun and an SKS assault rifle. As a convicted felon, Hall is not permitted to posses firearms.
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Marvin E. Hall.
