Judge Sentences Evans City Man for Robbing Sarver Bank

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, May 11, 2010, that Edward Gene Clutter, a resident of Evans City, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to five years’ probation on his conviction of bank robbery.

Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill imposed the sentence on Clutter, age 43.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Barbara K. Swartz, on May 6, 2009, Clutter robbed the National City Bank located at 620 South Pike Road, Sarver, Pennsylvania, and as a result thereof, obtained $2,769.00.

Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Edward Gene Clutter.
