Johnstown Crack Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, April 26, 2010, that Kwame K. Lassiter, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to 120 months’ imprisonment and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating various federal narcotics laws.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Lassiter, age 28.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., from November 25, 2008, to March 20, 2009, Lassiter conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” and on November 25, 2008, he distributed five grams or more of cocaine base. In addition, on March 20, 2009, Lassiter possessed with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base.
Mr. Cessar commended the Johnstown Police Department, the Cambria County Drug Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Laurel Highlands Resident Agency) for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Lassiter.
