Judge Sentences Johnstown Drug Dealer to Five Years in Prison

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, March 25, 2010, that Shameek Spicer, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to 60 months’ imprisonment and five years supervised release on his conviction of various federal narcotics offenses.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Spicer, age 26.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., from January 2007, to August 7, 2007, Spicer, together with five co-defendants, conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and five grams or more of cocaine base, commonly known as “crack.” In addition, on July 19, 2007, he distributed less than five grams of cocaine base, and on July 28, 2007, he distributed less than 100 grams of heroin.
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Laurel Highlands Resident Agency), the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Johnstown Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Spicer.
