Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, January 7, 2010, that Joshua J. Senchuk, a resident of Butler, Butler County, has been sentenced in Pittsburgh to 30 months’ imprisonment, followed by 10 years of supervised release, on his conviction of possession of child pornography.  On January 5, 2010, Senchuk pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of possession of child pornography.

United States District Judge David S. Cercone imposed the sentence on Senchuk, age 20.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman, in and around April of 2009, Senchuk knowingly possessed visual depictions (photographs) of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Middlesex Township Police and Butler City Police conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Joshua J. Senchuk.
