Johnstown Man Pleads Guilty to Violating Federal Drug Laws

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, December 3, 2009, that on December 2, Henry James Logan, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court in Johnstown to charges of violating various federal narcotics laws.
Logan, age 35, pleaded guilty to two counts before United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.
In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., advised the court that on October 22, 2007, Logan distributed less than 500 grams of cocaine and also possessed with the intent to distribute less than 500 grams of cocaine.
Judge Gibson scheduled sentencing for April 7, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of 40 years in prison, a fine of $2,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, and the Cambria County Drug Task Force conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Logan.
