FCI Gilmer Inmate Sentenced for Possessing a Weapon

CLARKSBURG, WV—A 37 year old federal inmate was sentenced on October 30, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that SAMUEL ANTHONY was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment to run consecutive to the sentence he is currently serving at FCI Gilmer. ANTHONY entered a plea of guilty to a one-count Information charging him with possessing an object designed and intended to be used as a weapon on October 9, 2008, at FCI Gilmer.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David E. Godwin. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Prisons - Special Investigative Services.
