Phoenix Man Sentenced to Five Years in Federal Prison for Selling Methamphetamine

PHOENIX—U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell sentenced Jepheth Alexander Olsen, 23, to 60 months in federal prison for selling methamphetamine to undercover officers who were participating in an undercover operation which targeted methamphetamine dealers in both Tuba City and Flagstaff, Arizona. Olsen, of Phoenix, pleaded guilty on May 26, 2011, to possession with the intent to distribute five grams or more of actual methamphetamine.

Between May and July, 2009, the defendant sold methamphetamine to undercover officers on two separate occasions. During this investigation, which lasted over a year, police arrested 22 people on federal charges. Twenty defendants have been sentenced, one defendant is awaiting sentencing, and trial is pending in the remaining case.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety Drug & Gang Unit, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Flagstaff Police Department. The prosecution is being handled by Christina J. Reid-Moore, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
