  • District of Arizona (602) 514-7500

PHOENIX—Jas Lucas Colelay, 23, of Whiteriver, Arizona, was sentenced on Monday by U.S. District Judge Stephen M. McMamee to 190 months in prison followed by lifetime supervised release. Colelay, a member of the White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe, pleaded guilty on February 15, 2011, to abusive sexual contact with a minor.

Between February 2009 and February 2010, Colelay sexually abused a 4-year-old girl on several occasions, causing her to contract a sexually transmitted disease. Although the very young victim was only able to articulate one incident of sexual contact with Colelay, during law enforcement’s interview with Colelay, he admitted to having sexual contact with the victim on several occasions.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution was handled by Dimitra H. Sampson, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
