Navajo Man Sentenced for Abusive Sexual Contact of a Minor

PHOENIX—Charles Tsosie Ashley, 62, of Wide Ruins, Arizona, was sentenced on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell to 78 months in prison for abusive sexual contact of a minor. Additionally, he will be required to be a registered sex offender for life. Ashley pleaded guilty on February 28, 2011.

The defendant admitted to touching the buttocks of a 9-year-old boy while the boy was visiting the defendant.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Navajo Department of Law Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Dyanne C. Greer, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
