Murder Suspect Arrested

PHOENIX, AZ—Today, Phoenix FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Nathan Thomas Gray announced the arrest of Albert Anthony Sermeno, age 23.     

Albert Sermeno was arrested by the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force in the area of 22nd Avenue and Heatherbrae in Phoenix, Arizona. Sermeno, who is wanted for first degree murder, has been on the run since June 19, 2009, after he was inadvertently released from incarceration.

SAC Gray stated, “The FBI commends the task force members for the outstanding fugitive investigation which led to today’s arrest of Albert Sermeno without incident.”

The members of the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force include the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department, the Mesa Police Department, the Phoenix Police Department, the Scottsdale Police Department, and the FBI.
