Suspected Serial Robber Hits TD Bank Branch in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery of the TD Bank branch located at 5501 Ridge Avenue in the city’s Roxborough section on February 17, 2013.

At approximately 12:05 p.m., the subject entered the bank and passed a teller a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot. He was seen running north on Ridge Avenue and then west on Markle Street.

The subject is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall, medium build, medium to dark complexion, with a goatee and glasses. He wore a black knit cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and black knit gloves.

This subject is believed to be connected to at least four other incidents this month, including the attempted robbery of this same TD branch on Thursday.

He is believed to also be responsible for the following robberies:

• February 14, 2013: Sovereign Bank, 1 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania
• February 12, 2013: TD Bank, 401 West Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, Pennsylvania
• February 2, 2013: Citizens Bank, 121 East City Line Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
