Robbery of Monument Bank Branch in Newtown

FBI Philadelphia December 24, 2013

The Newtown Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery Monday of the Monument Bank branch located at 30 Swamp Road in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., the subject entered the bank and handed a teller a threatening demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank in a silver VW Beetle.

The subject is described as a black male, approximately 30-35 years old, 6’2” tall, and clean-shaven. He wore a red zip-neck sweatshirt and a dark green knit winter hat.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-641-8910 or the Newtown Township Police Department at 215-504-2201. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
