Armed Robbery of Beneficial Bank Branch in Philadelphia

FBI Philadelphia April 05, 2013

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for this afternoon’s armed robbery of the Beneficial Bank branch located at 1411 Rhawn Street in the city’s Fox Chase section.

At approximately 2 p.m., the subject entered the bank, brandished a black semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money from a teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank—possibly in a black SUV.

The subject is described as a black male, approximately 6’0” tall and 240 pounds, with a medium complexion. He wore blue jeans, black shoes, black gloves, a red baseball cap with unknown white logo, and a gray hooded sweatshirt, which he used to cover his face.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
