Fugitive Captured as a Result of Web Publicity

FBI Philadelphia December 11, 2012

On December 9, 2012, an anonymous individual called the Philadelphia FBI and stated they were viewing the FBI website and noticed a person who was wanted by the FBI in Sacramento, California. The name of the wanted person on the flyer was SHAUNTAE EDMOND GRAY. The caller provided the Philadelphia Division with a location where this individual frequents.

On December 11, 2012, at approximately 10:30 a.m., agents and detectives of the FBI’s Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force located and arrested GRAY at an apartment in Philadelphia. GRAY was wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution out of the Eastern District of California based upon the state of California’s charge of detention or concealment of a child in violation of a court order.

Both children were safely recovered and handed over to the proper authorities. A captured banner will be placed over the web photo of Gray.

Special note: This makes the 62nd arrest of someone as a direct result of our FBI website. It is also a great example of a citizen perusing the website and identifying a subject who is wanted over 3,000 miles away.
