Three Philadelphia Residents Charged in Connection with Armed Robbery at the United States Post Office

A 10-count superseding indictment was unsealed today charging Marcus White, Tyrone Edwards, and Antwanne White in connection with an armed robbery at the United States Post Office, located at 327 West Ridge Pike, Limerick, Pennsylvania, on May 27, 2010, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. According to the indictment, the defendants robbed the employee of United States currency, unissued United States Postal money orders, and other items of value.
The defendants are charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of robbery of a postal employee, one count of conspiracy to commit a robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, two counts of robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, and three counts of carrying and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Marcus White was also charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.

If convicted, the defendants face a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum term of 60 years’ imprisonment to be served consecutively to any sentence imposed on the robbery and felon in possession of a firearm charges, five years of supervised release, and an $800 special assessment. Marcus White also faces a possible fine of $2.5 million and Tyrone Edwards and Antwanne White also face a possible fine of $2 million.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of investigation, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department, the Coatesville Police Department, the Limerick Police Department, and the Maryland State Police. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joel D. Goldstein.
