Superseding Indictment Filed Against Alleged Armed Robber

John Gassew was charged today in a superseding indictment with three counts of committing a robbery which interfered with interstate commerce and three counts of using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.

If convicted of all the charges against him, Gassew faces a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment and $1,500,000 in fines.
This prosecution is a result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in conjunction with the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Linwood C. Wright, Jr. and Ewald Zittlau.
