Bethlehem Man Charged with Making Threatening Communications

Anthony Douglas Elonis was charged today by Indictment with five counts of the interstate communication of threats, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 25 years’ incarceration, a $1,250,000 fine, three years supervised release, and a $500 fine.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sherri A. Stephan.
